Wenge

Walnut originated in North and East America.

Walnut can reach a diameter of 40-60 cm and can be up to 40 meters high.

It is characterized by its dark colour that tends to dark brown and greyish brown. The beautiful lines are created by the varied annual structures that are in the tree. Over time, walnut darkens and becomes a more brownish colour.

Walnut is a good choice for the countertop as it is a wood type for countertops as it is very oily and very maintenance-friendly.

Brasilica Safari

Brasilica comes from the Pinus Radiata variety in New Zealand and is FSC®-certified.

It is grown on sustainable plantations under strict environmental requirements. The tree only takes 24 years to mature and therefore grows at a rate which means it can reproduce itself.

Radiata Pine is naturally bright, but at Spekva dry and treat the wood so that it gets a deep warm glow and bears the name Brasilica.

To close the fibres in the timber and make the softwood hard, pressurize with proteins (amino acids) and colour into the timber. The colours come from crushed flower petals. The amino acids are already an important part of our daily food, so the composition is completely harmless to humans.

The staining runs all the way through the timber so that the worktop, bar counter or the like can be cut, sanded, and repaired for on-site scratches without giving visible discoloration.
